Something here...something there...a little here... a little there...more here...more there.

And Ladies and gentlemen, I stand before you this evening and tell you that I believe this Bible,

I believe this book,

And I believe in what I'm doing.

Your religion may be dead,

Your walk with God may be non-existent,

You may have a bad attitude about serving God,

BUT BLESS GOD, TO ME IT'S REAL!

And ladies and gentlemen, the time has come, it's time for a split.

I know I'm going to make some of you mad this evening,

I know that some of you won't come back,

I know some of you will leave and bad-mouthed this preacher,

The phones are going to ring off the wall tonight,

Central Baptist Church is going to get some new members,

Bible Baptist is going to get some new members,

Several other churches including the Southern Baptists are going to get some new members,

Preacher, what in the world are you going to do?

Are you going to kick somebody out this morning?

What is going to happen?

IT'S TIME FOR A SPLIT!

The party's over,

It's time for a split,

IT'S TIME FOR A SPLIT

ON THIS MATTER OF:

1.  SOUL WINNING

Some of you are getting tired of me preaching about this matter of soul winning.

Some of you are getting tired of us talking about Thursday night soul winning.

Some of you get mad when I say that you need to be here on Thursday nights.

You don't like it when I say that you ought to be here.

BUT BLESS GOD - I'M GOING TO KEEP ON PREACHING IT!

Why?  Because the Bible talks about winning souls!

PROVERBS 11:30 - Are you wise?

MARK 1:17 - what is a fisherman?

Does a fisherman catch fish everytime?  No

Does he keeping going out and fishing?  Yes

Doesn't a true fisherman go out regardless of the weather?

HELLO?

And if you don't come out on Thursday night - YOU'RE NOT RIGHT WITH GOD!

Mark it down - you leave this church you will not be a better soul winner, you will stop being a soul winner all together, if you were one to start with.

And if you don't like to hear this kind of preaching - IT'S TIME FOR A SPLIT!

Listen!  Right's right

Wrong's wrong

Black's black

White's white

Drop Dead!

IT'S TIME FOR A SPLIT

ON THIS MATTER OF:

2.  REACHING EVERY CREATURE

Mark 16:15 - Does that say EVERY creature?

What is a creature?

What color is a creature?  White, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant?

It really erks some of you to see these little black kids,

It ticks you off when you see those little mexican kids,

HEY - this isn't a Klu Klux Klan church!

HEY - this isn't a Mason church!

NO, what you want is a squeaky clean white church where you can sit in your pew without worrying about the kids.

I used to hear this - well, if God wants them to have a church, He'll send them a preacher and a church.

HEY, we've got a church and we've got a preacher!

And those little black kids need someone to tell them about Jesus and try to keep them out of hell.

Do you really believe that everyone in Heaven will be white?

Well, preacher, if they start coming to church, they'll marry our little white girls.

Our kids go to school with black kids,

They play sports with the mexican kids,

They go skating with those kids,

HEY, we won't have any trouble with blacks marrying whites and whites marrying blacks if we just preach and teach that blacks are to marry blacks and whites are to marry whites.

But it's time for a split over this matter of reaching every creature.

IT'S TIME FOR A SPLIT

OVER THIS MATTER OF:

3.  HARD, BIBLE PREACHING

Ephesians 4:10-12

HEY, it's my job to equip you to be better servants for Christ,

HEY, it's my job to make you better Christians,

It's my job!

It's my job to preach about:

a.       tithing - You start tithing and you won't mind the preacher preaching about tithing

You keep robbing God and everytime I preach about tithing, you'll get mad

Why don't you just get right with God and start tithing?

b.      faithfulness - I'll give anyone a $100 if you can give me a scripture that says it's okay for you to stay home from church

faithful - I Cor. 4:2 says we are required to be faithful

what does faithful mean?  all the time?

some of the time?

How many of you ladies would allow your husband to be faithful 364 days a year and allow him to be unfaithful 1 day a year?

Wouldn't you allow him to be faithful 99.7% of the time and fool around only 0.3% of the time?

What about you men?  Could you live with a woman who was not faithful 100% of the time?

THEN BLESS GOD - WHY CAN'T WE HAVE THAT ATTITUDE TOWARD GOD'S HOUSE?

c.       loyalty - this church reached it peak when men were loyal to the church and to the pastor,

There was a time when the church came first,

You men were here for workdays,

You were here for every service,

You were here on Thursday nights,

You were here every night of revival,

You were here every time the doors were opened,

But now you don’t come for much of nothing!

And our church has plateaued the past few years, and it because of loyalty.

Someone said it recently, “If you can’t trust the preacher, who can you trust?”

IT'S TIME FOR A SPLIT

OVER THIS MATTER OF:

4.  TELLING IT LIKE IT IS

II Timothy 4:2-4

HEY, it's my job to preach the Word!

It's my job to nail you!

AND I'M GOING TO TELL IT LIKE IT IS!

You teach a Sunday School class and miss too much church, we’ve got a problem.

You sing on this platform and miss Thursday night after Thursday night, we’ve got a problem.

You sit out there and criticize and gripe and don’t do a thing to put anyone in the pew, we’ve got a problem.

You make sure you attend a Senior Saint meeting and miss Wednesday night, we’ve got a problem.

You teach a Sunday School class or sing on this platform and only give a token participation in a Sunday School attendance campaign, we’ve got a problem.

You skip out on Sunday nights for some foolhardy reason, but show up for a Wednesday night mens meeting, we’ve got a problem.

You cut back on your tithe and stop giving to missions, and try to tell me how the finances of the church are to be run, we’ve got a problem.

By the way, we’re changing the mens meetings to another time and making it a time of Bible study and preaching.

What are you trying to say, Preacher?

HEY, it's time to get busy!  Make up your mind!

I sat on the platform during the Revival with Bro. Bunnell so I could watch people’s faces, those who came.

I watched everyone during the Revival,

Have you ever noticed how the disgruntles always sit together?  I guess it really is true that misery loves company.

Ever notice how the backsliders always sit together and talk together?

Preacher, aren't you ever going to let up?  NOPE!

Preacher, are you ever going to stop telling it like it is?  NOPE

Well, I'm mad.  You're preaching at me.

WHO AM I SUPPOSED TO PREACH TO - THE WALLS?

Well, preacher, you did everything but call my name?

I'm supposed to - look at ROMANS 16:17-18

Like that one - what about this one?  II THESS. 3:6, 14-15

Didn't like that either, did you?

I can't figure you out.  You used to enjoy this kind of preaching.

You used to like me...

But I've figured you out:

you didn't preacher Smith

you didn't like preacher Jones either

then you didn't like preacher Williams

and you really didn't like preacher Johnson

and you don't like me

GUESS WHAT THE COMMON DENOMINATOR IS?

That’s why you’ve been in several churches, you can’t get along with the preacher.

No one forced you to join...

I never ask anyone to join...

I might have encouraged you to come...

I might have visited you...

But I didn't coerce you...

I didn't force you...

And ladies and gentlemen, I'm not going to trim a message to keep anyone in this church.

I'M GOING TO KEEP TELLING IT LIKE IT IS!

See, this kind of preaching keeps you on your toes,

It keeps you heifers from tearing up the church,

What is a heifer?  It's a cow that's never calved,

And if you started winning people to Christ, you wouldn't be griping about no songbooks on the back two rows ... or the financial report.

You start winning souls and keeping people out of hell, you wouldn't be wondering why that teenager son of yours is so rebellious.

You start winning souls and keeping people out of hell, you wouldn't be worried about the preacher jumping on your favorite sin.

You start winning souls and you'll stop griping about the invitation taking so long.

You start winning souls and you'll stop griping about the services being so long.

WHY DON'T YOU GET RIGHT WITH GOD?

Now, let me get really mean:

Some of you ladies who are trying to get your husbands in church,

serving God with you,

How much did you pray for him this last week?

Where were you during the Revival?

Where were you at the Prayer Meetings?

Do you really expect to leave after Sunday School and reach him for Christ?

HEY, I'm just telling it like it is,

Well, I better move on ...

IT'S TIME FOR A SPLIT

ON THIS MATTER OF:

5.       SOUTHERN BAPTISTS

It’s time once and for all that you realized that Southern Baptists DO NOT believe like I believe.

Yes, they’re close,

Yes, they believe a lot like we do,

But, all in all, they do not believe like I believe.

Preacher, how do you know?

I’ll tell you how I know:

My uncle Jeff, Southern Baptist pastor for 40 plus years,

My uncle Lawrence, ordained Southern Baptist minister, teaching at a Southern Baptist college,

My uncle Lee Roy, ordained Southern Baptist deacon,

My uncle Leonard, ordained Southern Baptist deacon,

My uncle Lewis, ordained Southern Baptist deacon,

I’ve known them all my life,

I’ve talked with them for hours and hours,

I’ve discussed things with them for hours,

I’ve debated with them for hours,

I’ve argued with them for hours,

I know what they believe.

Billy Graham, the spokesman and main evangelist for the Southern Baptists, DOES NOT BELIEVE in a literal hell.

He also believes that anyone who believes in God is going to heaven.

Most Southern Baptists, not all, but a large, large majority DO NOT believe in personal soul winning,

they do not believe in any kind of separation,

they do not believe in the premillennial return of Jesus Christ,

they do not believe in eternal security,

they do not believe in salvation by grace alone,

ASK THEM!

They believe that most everyone is going to get to heaven,

They believe that most everyone is going to get to heaven, no matter what they believe,

They believe that most everyone is going to get to heaven, as long as they believe in Jesus.

ASK THEM!

IT’S TIME FOR A SPLIT

ON THIS MATTER OF:

6.       MEN BEING THE SPIRITUAL LEADERS OF THE HOME

It’s pretty bad when we have a good, solid group of young people,

soul winners,

dedicated,

separated,

godly,

and yet trying to find a man who is sold out,

qualified,

soul winner

faithful,

a tither,

gives to missions,

dedicated,

whose family is on target,

whose wife is on fire for God,

a husband and wife team willing to give up a portion of their lives for some young people,

AND I CAN’T FIND ANY!

We must have godly men,

Men who will be faithful, even if it means earning less money,

Men who will be faithful, no matter what,

Men who will sit down front,

Say “AMEN”

Sing out, and loud

Open their Bibles,

Go out and knock doors,

Try to win souls,

Be loyal,

Have some faith and trust in the Pastor,
