Question:-- What are 4 ways network management can be simplified by using the virtual LANs (VLANs)? (select four)
A. VLANs allow you to implement multiple layers switching easily.
B. VLAN can group several broadcasts domains into multiple logical subnets.
C. It is no longer necessary to install cables to move a user from a new network to another.
D. Network adds, moves and changes are achieved by configuring a port into a VLAN.
E. A group of users needing high security can be put into a VLAN so that no users outside the VLANs can communicate with them.
F. As a logical grouping of users, VLANs can be considered independent from their physical or geographic locations.

Query: Anybody using 640-507 to pass 640-607?
As I feel there is no difference between exam507 and 607.
As I had completed my entire academy program in 507 and took the exam In 607, though I had the option to choose from either one.
As it was the transition period between 507 and 607, I didn’t had any opportunity to get any help, from any one,as no one know much about it,except that Simulation questions been added and you need 849 (Minimum equired) to Pass.
The changes as follows:
1. Allocated time been reduced to 75min: from 90 min:
2. Question been brought down to 50 from 65-74.
3. Passing marks been gradually increased to 849 (at present).
4. One or two simulation question been added.
If you go through all the chapters in the book properly you can pass your exam with no fear. You should have the basic skill to configure router and must know how to use the utility like ping and tellnet etc.Hope this information helps you in advance to prepare for your exam well.

1.- The new host has been added to the workgroup switch although the layer 3 configurations is correct, the host is unable to access the server resources in its network segment. What is the problem?
a) The router lacks a routing table entry for the new host
b) The host switch port is assignedto the incorrect lan
c) The host MAC address is incorrectly configured
d) The vtp instance for the new host has not been initialized
2.- Which of these is fast digital signal and packed switched?
a) isdn
b) frame relay
c) atm
d) fddi
3.- Who are of the following, are true for the frame relay multipoint subinterface?
a) All routes required to be fully meshed
b) All routes must be in the same subnet to forward routing
c) IP address is required for the physical interface of the central route
d) Multipoint is the default configuration the frame relay subinterface
Many thanks

Dear Nuria!
Your answers are:
1.c) The host MAC address is incorrectly configured.
2.b) frame relay (Because ISDN is circuit-switched,ATM is cell switched[53bytes]and FDDI is Fiber Distributed Data Interface a LAN standard)
3.b) All routes must be in the same subnet to forward routing

Dear Tara,
Could you explain your answer for Nuria's 1 question? Why c) ?????
We do not configure nor set any MAC address connecting any computer to a network? So why c) answer?????
I have one more question. What does question - "What is the most common mail to device?" - mean???
Unfortunately my English is not as good and I don't understand this question.
Could you express this question in another way for me?
regards kros

Kros............I think the main reason that the answer to this question:
1.- The new host has been added to the workgroup switch although the layer 3 configurations is correct, the host is unable to access the server resources in its network segment. What is the problem?
a) The router lacks a routing table entry for the new host
b) The host switch port is assignedto the incorrect lan
c) The host MAC address is incorrectly configured
d) The vtp instance for the new host has not been initialized
is "C" is because switches use MAC addresses to forward packets to their destination. If the MAC is incorrectly configured then the switch may not recognize the origination MAC address of outgoing packets or be able to forward incoming packets to the device with that MAC address.
I hope if I am incorrect that someone will point out the error in my thinking here. :D
