I like test kings answer better. The D selection reminds me of what routers do, filter broadcasts. I just dont see address learning as the best option

I like tara's answer to this. The network address, is created there, or established. It is also commonly called logical address.
I am pretty sure on what I said but you might want to double check. Basicly the one ab out saving traffic, is correct, I just see the broadcast one as being more ccna. Lets take a switch over a hub. Switches learn address, and save traffic, but hubs do not, and cause more latency. But as I said before, broadcast filitering seems more ccna to me

Personally I go with Tara's answers on both of these questions.
On the second question
"Which three basic switch functions increase available bandwidth on the networks?"
B is correct and not D as the only time a switch will filter broadcasts is when the switch is set up for VLANs, normally it will just forward broadcasts out of all ports.

Yep, you are right :(
I read the question wrong, and was thinking networking in general. Now switches can sortive filter broadcasts in vlans with pruning, but since it is basic switch, I would go with taras, since address learning is pretty basic for a switch
